We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Statistical Analyst in Bletchley.

This is 6mths FTC.

Santander is a highly successful global bank with a significant presence in the UK including Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley branches. In 2008 UK profits were up 20% to almost £1bn; so we’re well placed to take on the future- and win!

Based in Bletchley the Fraud Area primarily deals with Abbey and Alliance & Leicester fraud analysis – and in particular card fraud analysis and policy. As a senior Analyst you would be expected to lead fraud analysis projects and fraud scoring development projects delivering top quartile models to agreed timescales while developing junior fraud analysts working within the project. Knowledge of neural networks and their implementation in fraud models would be an advantage.

With a minimum degree (or equivalent) of 2:1 in a numerate subject, you’ll be a master of statistical techniques for measuring, analysing, predicting and improving business performance. Proficient understanding of the operation of banking and database technology and the procedures for extracting and analysing robust datasets accurately is a necessity, as is mastery of a common statistical programming tool e.g. SAS. This technical knowledge will be matched by strong communication and influencing skills, excellent leadership abilities and the ability to take ownership, seeing things through to the end. You will work well under pressure and have first-class organisational and planning skills.
