Our client is well regarded in the alternative investments sector as a market-leading manager of listed closed end investment companies.
They are growing their distribution capabilities into new investor segments/ geographies, ensuring that they retain their pre-eminent position in the fast growing sector.
As a result, our client is looking for three experienced Sales and Business Development professionals to join the established team and build further on an already successful track record. Sales people with a proven expertise in covering a broad range of investors in the UK, Southern Europe or Northern Europe are especially relevant.
The Roles:
Candidates will be responsible for identifying, developing and growing relationships with a broad range of investors in their region, including private banks, asset managers, family offices, pension funds etc. The Sales people will initiate and lead sales efforts (to both appropriate buyers and distributors), including researching, establishing and forging distribution opportunities for established and future products.
UK:
Focus will be across the UK with a specific responsibility for developing new institutional relationships in London and the South East. A background in Institutional Equity Sales would be attractive.
Southern Europe:
Focus on the key markets of Spain and Portugal, as well as broadening their horizons to Italy, France and Greece. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is a pre-requisite for this role.
Northern Europe:
Focus on Switzerland (notably German speaking Switzerland), Scandinavia, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. Fluency in German is a pre-requisite for this role, French would be useful.
The existing Sales team is based in London and it is intended that new team members will also be located in London, with extensive travel.
The Ideal Candidate:
A minimum of 3-5 years experience, and a proven sales track record in capital markets or financial services; sales of alternatives/hedge funds would be very useful.
At least 3 years experience and understanding of the specific buying and distribution dynamics in the specific region, whether it be Southern Europe, Northern Europe or the UK.
A strategic thinker and self starter; a genuine Sales person who is tenacious at pursuing clients, gathering intelligence and driving penetration. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
