The team is closely knit with four Directors and one more junior Associate Director. It is the team’s responsibility to maintain a close working relationship with business unit Client Directors and provide support/advice/guidance to the business units. This would encompass structural, credit policy, credit or industry issues relative to proposals being contemplated with the goal of ensuring that submissions being presented are of high quality and are capable of moving swiftly through the credit analysis and approval processes.

For this particular role the person would be primarily responsible for a portfolio of property and property related relationships, however, the role may also include involvement in corporate, Project Finance/Infrastructure and Leverage transactions, as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage and limit the risk exposure of the Group, by performing credit assessment and using personal delegated authority in a manner that will enable the Business to maintain and develop the lending book
• Liaise with the business unit Client Director and the relevant product area as required at all stages during the decision making process
• Earliest possible identification and close monitoring of problem or potential problem loans, including determining corrective action required and monitoring corrective action plans through to completion
• Undertake a comprehensive risk analysis for each credit submission received

Experience

• Highly experienced career banking/finance professional who has acquired (or is in the process of developing) specialist industry experience in the particular industry segment
• Relevant Real Estate finance background experience within Institutional or business banking and/or credit
• Previous experience of exercising personal lending discretion is necessary
• Highly developed verbal (negotiation and presentational) and writing skills
