This worldwide leading enterprise software company boasts a universally recognized brand name and wide product ranges in the industry. They develop and deliver a portfolio of licensing business software solutions and consulting services to clients in different industries worldwide. As a result of business expansion across the region, a Commercial Director position is now required.
Based in Beijing and reporting to the regional CFO, this holistic position will be responsible for the full commercial management of the process from inception through to re-bidding. This will involve liaising with legal, finance, sales and operations departments to deliver, win, maintain and retain large corporate clients. Dealing with massive multi-million dollar tenders, the incumbent will be responsible for running the entire bid process team and acting as the lead on contract negotiations covering China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. A large challenge of the role will be building a technical team to draft non-standard contracts in multiple languages and support subsequent customer negotiations.
An experienced Commercial Manager with at least three years experience, most likely with a commerce or legal degree, now will be the time to step into this Commercial Director position. A background working for a multi-national IT business will be held in high regard, particularly as the successful candidate will need a comprehensive understanding of revenue recognition and how it pertains to Sarbanes Oxley and US listed IT businesses. Expertise in customer and contract negotiations is a must as is fluency in both English and Mandarin.
