Purpose of Role:
SSgA Fixed Income Beta Solutions team manages passive fixed income portfolios and synthetic based fixed income solutions. The team is currently recruiting for an investment manager to manage index based physical and synthetic portfolios
Major Responsibilities:
• Responsibility for managing a range of index based fixed income portfolios. Accountability for performance of these accounts (60% of time) • Working with product engineers responsible for development of new solutions and associated research/development required from investment management desk as well as enhancing the team processes (20-30%) • Interaction with marketing/client review etc (10%)
REQUIREMENTS -
Education & Experience:
• Degree qualified in numerate/financial discipline • CFA qualified or undertaking CFA program • Demonstrable and proven front office experience in fixed income (not necessarily as inv mgr) • IMC or equivalent exam recognized by the FSA for threshold competence desirable
Specific Technical Knowledge/
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of fixed income benchmarks & methodology • Demonstrable experience in analytic systems such as POINT and Yieldbook • Demonstrable understanding or practical experience of fixed income derivatives and their application in liability driven investment and structured solutions • Advanced Excel skills
