Our client designs and delivers energy trading, transport and risk management software that gives traders, risk managers, and other decision-makers fully scalable, flexible solutions that are easy to integrate, deploy and modify—enabling companies throughout the energy industry to gain compelling advantages while keeping pace with volatile markets and emerging strategies.

With over 20 years in business, the company has built a diverse, global customer base. Some of the worlds’ largest energy producers and consumers use their software to manage their businesses. The company maintains offices in Dallas, Houston, Singapore, London, Calgary, and Zurich.

Our client seeks an experienced Customer Account Manager (CAM). The CAM participates in a team-selling environment on assigned named customer accounts within an assigned geographic territory. In this capacity, the CAM will assist in identifying and qualifying new opportunities, executing account strategy and generating incremental software, consulting and training revenue. In addition, the CAM will facilitate and maintain successful relationships with customers, which will be measured by their reference ability and customer satisfaction levels. In addition, when an opportunity becomes competitive and larger in scope, the CAM will work with either a Named Accounts Director or Senior Sales Manager as a selling team.

Challenges of the position include:

  • Identify, pursue and close sales opportunities as part of the virtual account team
  • Position the company to win sales opportunities by executing and communicating effective selling strategies as directed
  • Routinely discuss and communicate account strategy with other members of the virtual account team
  • Maintain an accurate and documented pipeline of opportunities and provide real time visibility of such to the management
  • Continuously gather knowledge of installed competitors and their projects and how to effectively position the company solutions against them
  • Leverage and effectively communicate the companies solutions to broaden its presence with the Customers

Qualifications for consideration:

  • An enthusiastic self-starter with proven problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Dynamic presentation skills and the ability to train others
  • Extensive sales experience in information technology market (software, hardware, services)
  • Specific energy industry and ETRM experience is a plus, as well as exposure to virtual account team selling environment is a plus
  • Previous success in handling large accounts over lengthy sales campaigns in a fast-paced, consultative and competitive market strongly advised
