This pre-eminent investment consultancy is seeking a highly experienced researcher

My client is a niche investment consultancy that consistently aims to outperform their peers. They are looking for an experienced Investment Manager Researcher to lead investment manager research across a range of asset classes.

The successful candidate must have solid grounding in fundamental investment theory combined with a basic understanding of portfolio analytics in equities and the fixed income areas, attention to detail, an inquisitive and curious mind, as well as superior verbal and written communication skills are essential.

There will be a specific responsibility for the following:

Generating new names/leads

The individual occupying this role is expected explore any potential sources of new manager ideas in order to generate a steady stream of new potential candidates whose profile is consistent with the firm’s investment philosophy. This will involve building a network of contacts within the financial/investment industry as a basis for high quality referrals, plus primary research.

Maintenance of short-lists

The individual will ensure that short-lists of preferred investment managers and manager packages are maintained/updated for his/her asset classes so that, should an incumbent manager need to be replaced, the Client Consulting Group and the Investment Committee are in no doubt what the available options are.

Documentation

The individual will document decisions relating to why managers have made their way onto short-lists, why managers have been rejected, why manager packages have been selected. This will include:

  • Manager Research Notes
  • Internal de-brief meetings
