EMEA Institutional Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing Fidelity International's institutional assets across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Job Description

The EMEA Business Development Support Team is responsible for providing support to the EMEA Relationship Directors in relation to all aspects of the client, prospect and consultant relationship. This role will be responsible for providing high added value support to designated Regional Institutional Relationship Directors (RD), in order to develop business with prospects, existing clients and consultants. This includes understanding the market place in which the clients operate, the relationship that Fidelity has with clients, and Fidelity's products.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Business Development Support

Tasks to include:

  • Creating sales materials (presentations and booklets) for non standard / complex products, i.e. bespoke customising for existing products to meet customer needs or new products.
  • Pro-actively working with RD to qualify new business opportunities in conjunction with the Relationship Director determine correct product, fee structure, reporting etc for opportunities. Review and preliminary sign off presentations for Relationship Director's final sign off.
  • In conjunction with the Relationship Director, proactively coordinate internal resources to design product solutions for all non standard prospect and client requirements.
  • Maintains FIRST (CRM tool) with current pipeline.

 

2) Client relationships

The successful senior marketing support candidate is expected to quickly develop a detailed understanding of existing clients as well as key prospects - normally designated on a geographic basis. This includes:

• Keeping updated with what meetings have occurred and are planned for the future.

• In depth knowledge on the products which have been discussed and those that could be of interest to the client.

• Helping to identify potential opportunities, press, new wires and product launches.

• Covering for the Relationship Director when he or she is away on travel or holiday by responding to clients/prospects queries.

3) Product knowledge

The candidate will be required to build a comprehensive knowledge of all key products relevant to the market and Relationship Director that he or she supports, as well as a deep working knowledge of other available products at Fidelity. This includes being familiar with the investment philosophy, process, investment management team, the risk/return profile of the fund, key characteristics and any other important information.

4) Project Management

As and when required, represent the EMEA group at FIL / Institutional wide projects. This would involve attending project meetings, collecting EMEA group wide views, and ensuring that those views are taken into account. The successful candidate would be able to establish credibility within such forums and be able to influence decision making at a senior level.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

• Necessary fluent language skills (written / oral)

• Relevant industry knowledge working for a Asset Management organisation

• It is likely that the candidate will be degree qualified

• IMC qualified or with an active interest in achieving the qualification. Would ideally working towards CFA studies.

• Proven ability to work in a business role where gathering and researching information and compiling presentations and reports is key to the role

• Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment (sharing projects)

• Ability to interact with people at all levels, both internal and external

• Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines

• Strong numeric skills

• Strong technical financial knowledge

• Familiarity with industry databases and systems

• Excellent organisational skills

• Proactive / creative

• Solution driven

• Drive and determination essential
