My client is an investment banking group that specialises in renewable energy investments and carbon trading. They are looking for a Placements and Investor Relations specialist at Vice President level to join them and help raise equity for their multiple funds.
My client already has a number of established funds and has plans to increase both the size and number of their funds significantly over the course of the next three years. To enable this process of expansion, they are looking for a Vice President to join their fund raising team in sourcing equity and managing investor relations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Funds Director.
The following list details the specific responsibilities of the role:
Understand the Company’s different products/funds and investment management process including: the sector, the legal background, the investment process, the nature of investment selection, divestment procedure and all other aspects of the management of the funds necessary to effectively promote its attractiveness to professional and experienced investors.
Support a comprehensive CRM database of investors covering banks, insurance, Fund of Funds, family offices, pension funds and other institutional investors covering all geographic areas including: Europe, USA, Middle East and Far East.
Support a centrally managed system for all fund marketing and placement activities. Manage the marketing/fund placement process for specific subsets of potential investors, initial introductions, through to investment.
Make initial contact with potential investors to assess suitability and potential of the Company’s funds; Following from 2, 3 and 4, organise road show trips and undertake follow-ups with potential investors in order to secure investments.
General networking within the investment community including conferences and seminars.
In conjunction with others at the Company, support the formulation of a general marketing plan for the execution of the above, and prepare the required marketing materials.
Act as a constant liaison between the Company and the investment community, adapting marketing materials as and when necessary, and inform others at the Company of trends and feedback from potential investors.
Manage relationships with subsets of existing investors, and keep investors informed of all relevant developments within the Company and its funds. Draw up a schedule of regular calls for this purpose. Similarly, keep others at the Company informed of feedback from existing investors.
Successful candidates must have direct and relevant experience in accordance with the responsibilities listed above. The ideal candidate will also have a network of European investor contacts.
