Department Overview Investment Administration is responsible for processing corporate actions, pricing securities, settling trades and maintaining static data for all FIL funds outside of Japan; and fund accounting and reconciliation of all pooled funds in the UK and Luxembourg. The department processes 180 corporate actions a month, prices 10,500 securities and settles 3,500 trades a day. In addition, the department calculates the Net Asset Values for funds worth in excess of $200 billion every day. Investment Administration is based in 2 sites, UK and Luxembourg. FIAD (Fixed Income and Derivatives) is responsible for ensuring that all fixed income and derivative products are properly accounted for across all FIL funds outside of Japan. This is achieved by monitoring the accuracy of fixed income and derivative data maintained on the accounting books and records, as well as validating the resulting daily fund price calculations. Other department functions include: The production of yields across UK OEICS and Luxembourg funds; Trade and Reconciliation process of CFDs; Management of the New MBS Pool; Production of Cash Fund Prices and Yields; Securities Lending; Swaps, Futures and Options reconciliations; making Gearing, Collateral and Margin movements. Job Overview The jobholder will be responsible for supervising fixed income and derivative products to make sure they are accurately accounted for across all UK and Luxembourg funds. In addition to this the team is responsible for a number of operational functions and part of this role is to ensure these are carried out to a high degree of accuracy. There are currently in excess of 2500 fixed income instruments held across more than 40 funds in the FIL product range and a growing number of exchange traded and OTC derivative products. The jobholder will also support the implementation of projects and other strategic operations relating to fixed income and derivative products. Key Responsibilities • Supervise the launch and daily processing of the new Mortgage Backed Securities pool • Supervise the processing of CFDs • Supervise procedures to ensure the integrity of data on the fund accounting system • Supervise daily derivative processes including futures/options reconciliation, cash management and collateral management • Supervise the daily task for the group to ensure they are met in a timely and accurate manner • Point of escalation for issues and exceptions found • Responsible for assisting in the implementation of an effective control framework to ensure the management of risk in relation to derivative products (Margining/Collateral/CFD's/Gearing/Securities Lending/MBS) • Provide technical support for derivative related projects within IA • Management Reporting and front office query resolution • Assist and implement derivative process improvements • Assist in testing/implementation of derivatives products • Assist in assessing systems facilities along with possible manual workarounds in respect of new products • Implementation of agreed efficiency improvements • Test both on and off system facilities prior to implementation of new products • Be aware of market issues as they relate to the products under management Experience and Qualifications • Business / Mathematics / Economics / Statistics /Quantitative degree • Practical experience of Derivative products either from an operational perspective or oversight function • Derivatives systems knowledge and strong PC skills, particularly Excel.
